Why do I frequently get Carcinosinum as a remedy suggestion with the VES?

Answer

Some VES users do indeed get Carcinosinum suggested far too often.

The reason for this is almost invariably due to either of two causes.

Carc. is very well represented in the "food and drinks" section of
Synthesis. An extraction will show you that the remedy is present in the
symptoms related to some of our most popular food, such as chocolate, eggs,
milk, salt, spices, etc. If you take too many food rubrics for analysis,
Carc. will come up too high.

In fact, food rubrics should only be taken if they are very particular or
very strong. This means that it is unlikely that there would be more than
two or three rubrics of this kind in any case analysis.

The other reason why Carc. may come up too high is because of improper
underlining.

As indicated in the help section for the VES:

not more than 80 % of the symptoms should have an intensity of 1

not more than 80 % of the symptoms should have an intensity of 2

not more than 50 % of the symptoms should have an intensity of 3

not more than 20 % of the symptoms should have an intensity of 4

If you do not follow these rules any remedy may come up in an improper
way. Please study the rules for underlining to successfully use the VES.
